What is a security group?

Security groups act like firewalls. They prevent unauthorized, potentially malicious access to computers. Every virtual machine in Datapipe's Stratosphere automatically has one security group (called "default") attached to it.

NOTE: Every new security group initially defaults to allow NO access from outside. The group must be edited to include specific rules defining which ports to open and which addresses to allow.
