Restoring from Snapshots

Step 1: Create a template

New virtual machines can be created from a snapshot of a ROOT volume of an existing virtual machine by clicking on the "Create Template" button. This will bring up a popup into which you need to enter a distinct name for your new template.

Createtemplatename

Note: The snapshot must be in a "BackedUp" state.

The template creation can take a few minutes to complete.  Once the template is created, you will receive an email and notification message.

2: Deploy a virtual machine

From your "Private Templates" view, click on the "Deploy" button to the far right of your newly created template.

Note: If the server you are restoring had other volumes attached, you will need to detach those and then attach them to the replacement virtual machine.
